About Trevor

Trevor Fornara is a higher education professional focused on helping students engage across difference and build stronger communication skills.

He is currently the program coordinator at Dartmouth Dialogues, where he designs and leads dialogue programming for Dartmouth College. His work centers on creating and facilitating programs that help students navigate complex conversations with curiosity, empathy, and respect.

Previously, he co-founded the Positive Connection Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit where he worked on research-informed programs exploring the role of connection in human flourishing and prosocial behavior. This work focused on translating ideas from psychology and related fields into practical tools that people can use in everyday interactions.

He earned a B.A. in philosophy, politics, and law from Binghamton University (SUNY) and completed a fellowship at the university's Center for Community Engagement. There, he helped develop and facilitate social-emotional learning and dialogue programs for students, and co-founded the Civil Dialogue Project, which reached thousands of first-year students.

As an undergraduate, he co-founded Happy Medium, a student-run nonpartisan publishing group. Through that work, he collaborated with student leaders across the political spectrum to support more constructive and collaborative engagement on campus.

Across his work, he is interested in how institutions can thrive through the science of communication and collaboration.
